Frequently Asked Questions

Important Answers

Do I need a partner to take lessons?

Absolutely not! On private lessons you are paired up with one of our talented instructors one on one, and in group classes we encourage a rotation of partners so you can meet and dance with a variety of people at your level.

How long does it really take to learn?

That depends solely on you. Keeping our lessons close together and attending as many groupclasses and practice parties as possible helps, as does deciding upon a specific goal and plan with your teacher.

Is everyone nervous about coming in for the first time?

For the most part, YES. Anytime that you put yourself in a situation that you’re unsure of,it’s sure tobring on some anxiety. But be assured, you’ll feel confortable and at ease the moment you arrive. Our staff is dedicated to making you feel welcome and giving you an experience that’s fun and exciting.

How should I dress for my lesson?

Wear something comfortable that won't inhibit your movements. Of course, comfortable shoes are recommended! We suggest a pair of leather-soled shoes, no sneakers or rubber -soled shoes. For the ladies we suggest a low heel shoe with a back.

Where can I use my dancing?

Nightclubs, weddings, parties and other social events during the year are just a few of the opportunities you’ll come across. In addition, our social dance parties on Friday nights from 8:45- 10pm, along with many other dance held in the area, give you a chance to use your dancing every week.

Is it expensive to learn?

People spend anywhere from $25 to $500 at first, depending on what particular goal one aspires. The combination of Private, Group and Practice Party lessons can make instruction as low as $15 to $20 dollars per session. It is probably the single most important social investment you'll ever make.
